In the last few decades many people who have gone to and post secondary education have accumulated a large amount of debt. With prices rising and political climate changing former students are looking for their children to have a better situation than they are still dealing with. With the loss of the Sanders Campaign in summer of 2016 many supporters of the free tuition movement still havent lost hope that future generations can dodge the bullet of college debt.  A small number compared to America's 168 billion, however this money could be other wise spent on the fight at home to assist future generations who will be paying off their loans for decades to come. The future is looking more and more fragile with the Environmental and political changes we are going through as a continent. We are going to need a generation who is thinking less about making sure their own financial state is okay and more about how the rest of the world is going to solve its problems. Although it shouldn't be ruled out that these decisions should be up to the state seeing as different states do spending on a variety of things. New York recently is considering going through some changes and may lead the revolution so to speak on free tuition.
